Ohio Seeks Applicants for Export Marketing Subsidies
Wednesday, November 19, 2014COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Development Services Agency is accepting applications for the 2015 Ohio International Market Access Grant for Exporters (IMAGE) program.
The IMAGE program is a 50% reimbursement program designed to offset the costs associated with international marketing initiatives, including trade shows and missions, marketing materials, website translation and export education programs.
Dems Rename Ryan to Steering, Policy Committee
Wednesday, November 19, 2014WASHINGTON -- U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-13 Ohio, was reappointed Tuesday to the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee.
The leadership committee is tasked with assigning party members to House committees and advising the caucus on policy. Ryan, of Howland, was elected to his eighth term in Congress on Election Day two weeks ago.
“I am proud to once again be appointed to this influential committee tasked with advising the Democratic Party on policy matters and assigning party members to House committees,” Ryan said in a statement released by his office.
Hilcorp Is Digging Deeper into Columbiana County
Wednesday, November 19, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Hilcorp Energy Co., the most active driller in the northern tier of the Utica shale in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, is poised to begin aggressive development of its leasehold acreage in the Brinker storage field of Columbiana County.
Data provided by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources show that Hilcorp recently applied for 25 new horizontal well permits that target three sites in Fairfield Township in the northern section of the county.
ODNR approved six of those permits Nov. 13 and 14, the agency reported. The other 19 are pending.

YSU Trustees Ratify Contract Agreement with Faculty
Wednesday, November 19, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Youngstown State University Board of Trustees last night unanimously ratified a tentative agreement for a new three-year contract with the YSU-Ohio Education Association, the union representing university faculty.
The agreement must now be ratified by the union membership in order to create a new collective bargaining agreement. As of this posting, the faculty union has not set a date for the ratification vote.

YSU Seniors Display Work at McDonough Museum

City Approves Incentives for Wells Building Renovation
Tuesday, November 18, 2014YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Crews could be at work on the renovation of the Wells Building downtown as soon as Thursday, Gregg Strollo says.
Private financing is expected to close Thursday for the $5 million project to renovate the long-vacant building into a mixed-use structure, Strollo, partner with Strollo Architects, said this morning. A Strollo partnership, Wells Associated Renaissance partners LLC, plans to develop the building to serve as a new headquarters for the firm on its first floor and 12 apartments on the upper levels.
