"All told, we're looking at about $1.175 billion of investment," says Arno Hill as he rattles off projects in various stages of development in his village. "It's been a great year."
Small Businesses Borrow More, Still Lag 2006 Levels
Tuesday, January 06, 2015CLEVELAND -- While loans to large businesses “have soared to record levels,” lending to small businesses, although improving, continues to lose ground, says a report the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland released Monday.
The author of the report, Ann Marie Wiersch, is a senior policy analyst in the community development department of the Cleveland Fed. She was the keynote speaker in Vienna Township at a breakfast last March 13 the Mahoning County Economic Development Corp. held for small-business owners and the commercial lenders at banks that serve the Mahoning Valley.

The induced seismic sequence included a rare felt earthquake of magnitude 3.0, according to research published by the Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America.
Gulfport Adds 22 Utica Wells During 4th Quarter
Tuesday, January 06, 2015OKLAHOMA CITY -- Gulfport Energy Corp. connected 22 new wells in eastern Ohio's Utica shale during the fourth quarter of 2014, the company announced Monday.
Six of the wells are located in the condensate window of the play, 12 wells are in the wet gas window and four of the wells are placed in the dry gas window of the Utica. Gulfport has six horizontal drilling rigs operating in the play, the company said.
More Millennials See Benefits to Job Hopping
Tuesday, January 06, 2015MENLO PARK, Calif. – For the youngest generation of workers, moving from job to job is losing its bad reputation, a new survey from the Accountemps staffing firm suggests.
According to the survey, 57% of employees between the ages of 18 and 34 said changing jobs every few years might help their careers. That compares to 38% of professionals between the ages of 35 and 54 and just 22% of those age 55 and older who said they might benefit from job hopping.

More than a quarter-million of the passenger car made in Lordstown -- 273,060 – were sold in 2014 -- including 25,000 more than in 2013. In December, 17,800 were sold, 2% fewer than in the last month of 2013.
