Scrappers GM Promoted to VP of HWS Baseball
NILES, Ohio -- Jordan Taylor, general manager of the Mahoning Valley Scrappers, has been promoted to vice president-HWS Baseball effective immediately, Michael Savit, managing partner of the HWS Group, announced Wednesday.
Taylor will continue as Scrappers GM as well as have increased involvement in the other teams owned by HWS Baseball owns.
"Jordan has done a great job as general manager the past three seasons," Savit said in a statement. "Last season, in particular, we had our highest average attendance since 2008 and a 10% attendance increase overall. He is highly deserving of this promotion."
Taylor has been with the Scrappers organization the last 13 seasons, joining the franchise in November 2000 as a corporate sponsorship representative. He was promoted to director of ticket sales in 2003 and to assistant general manager in 2005. Taylor became general manager of the Scrappers in September 2010. "I have really enjoyed working for Michael Savit and HWS Baseball and look forward to getting more involved with the company in this new role," Taylor said.
HWS Baseball owns and operates four baseball franchises. In addition to the Scrappers, HWS constitutes the Mobile BayBears (Class AA affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks), Modesto Nuts (Class A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, and the Columbia Blowfish (Summer Collegiate Coastal Plain League).
