Ohio Third Frontier Sponsors Open Innovation Forums
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio Third Frontier is sponsoring six Open Innovation Ohio education forums across the state, Christiane Schmenk announced Tuesday.
Schmenk is director of the Ohio Development Services Agency and chairwoman of the Ohio Third Frontier Commission.
The forums are intended to educate companies with annual revenues of $10 million to $1 billion about Open Innovation and financial incentives available through the Third Frontier.
The sessions, held in partnership with YourEncore, will be led by open innovation authority Dr. Gene Slowinski, creator of the Want, Find, Get, Manage model for Open Innovation.
Slowinski will offer his listeners with market-proven solutions for implementing Open Innovation. Other participants are Open Innovation practitioners who will relate their success stories and best practices. Ohio Third Frontier representatives will be on hand to discuss how companies can benefit from Open Innovation state incentives.
Open Innovation has been successfully used by companies throughout the world to generate ideas, bring products to market and advance technologies by tapping into ideas and expertise outside their companies, Schmenk said. “Large companies are increasingly relying on Open Innovation to overcome research and development challenges,” she noted. “We want to encourage middle-market companies to engage in this same Open Innovation practice to speed product development, reduce costs and create jobs sooner, benefiting Ohio’s technology economy.”
Forums scheduled closest to this region are:
- Dec. 5: Marriott Cleveland East, 26300 Harvard Road, Warrensville Heights.
- Jan. 15, 2013: Marriott Columbus Airport, 1375 N. Cassady Ave., Columbus
The cost is $119 per person. Middle-market companies can see the entire schedule and register at http://www.openinnovationohio.com.
