Windsor Estates Opens in New Middletown
NEW MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Windsor House held a grand opening Friday for its new 56-suite Windsor Estates assisted living apartment building in New Middletown.
The three-story building officially opened Dec. 27 and is Windsor’s third assisted living center, with a fourth expected to open in Champion. It sits adjacent to the Masternick Memorial Health Care Center and currently has nine tenants with more expected to move in soon.
“Hopefully, before the end of the month, we will be certified as a Medicaid waiver provider so we are very excited by that due to the need,” said Kim Duncan, director at the New Middletown Windsor Estates.
The Medicaid waiver program would allows some residents a discounted rent.
Duncan said another 15 or more jobs will be created, on top of the 17 already generated, once more residents move in.
Windsor offers residents six different apartment styles to choose from in the building, rent ranges from $2,800 to $4,300 per month. Two of the apartment styles allow room for a second tenant for $600 per month. Monthly rent covers all utilities, cleaning and laundry services, optional appointment transportation, activities, and food.
“We do have four suites on the first floor which are all handicap accessible,” Duncan said. “The bathrooms are set up to where they can just wheel themselves directly into the shower with a removable shower head.”
Residents can take advantage of restaurant style dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner along with a personal dining room for private parties. The building also has a club room where residents can gather, an activities room for games, laundry room, pool table, beauty salon, and chapel that will cater to any religion of residents.
