Help Hotline Fundraising Campaign Sets $35,000 Goal
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Help Hotline Crisis Center Inc. kicks off its third annual fundraising campaign May 1 with a goal of raising $35,000.
Help Hotline has served the community for 43 years, and in 2013 answered 202,425 calls. The nonprofit agency employs 54 and a team of volunteers.
Help Hotline Crisis Center was incorporated in May 1971 as a drug information line for residents of Mahoning County. Over the years, the agency has grown to become a 24/7 crisis intervention and community information and referral center. In addition, Help Hotline Crisis Center provides support services to mental health consumers.
Much of the agency's work has been supported by gifts from foundations and the public, and also by revenue sources provided by county, state and federal governments.
However, as traditional sources of funding grew more uncertain two years ago, the agency launched its first fundraising campaign. Last year, the agency raised more than $25,000.
Businesses and individuals who wish to make a donation online should go to www.helphotline.org.
Gifts of $100 or more that are made payable to the Youngstown Foundation (with Help Hotline written on the check's memo) will be increased by 5% by The Youngstown Foundation.
