Health Care Education Group to Hold Expo May 22
BOARDMAN, Ohio -- More than 30 health-care vendors who offer screenings at the Mahoning Valley Healthcare Education Collaborative’s inaugural Mahoning Valley Health Expo from 10a.m.to 3 p.m. May 22 at Antone's Banquet Center.
The screenings, open to the public, will be for for blood pressure, glucose levels, pulse rates, hearing among others.
The Mahoning Valley Healthcare Education Collaborative consists of the Youngstown State University gerontology department, YSU Metro College, Ivy Woods Manor, Cornerstone Home Health, Crossroads Hospice, Greenbriar Healthcare Center, Home Instead Senior Care, Shepherd of the Valley, Sunrise Senior Living and Vibra Hospital.
“There are thousands of health-care professionals throughout the Mahoning Valley who are in need of high-quality, low-cost, continuing education to maintain their certifications and licenses,” said Ron Chordas, YSU associate provost for outreach. “This new collaborative will work to fill those needs by providing local, monthly, continuing education opportunities throughout Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.”
The long-term goal of the collaborative is to offer continuing education classes on a variety of topics monthly from September through May.
