Centers for Hearing Care Offer Hearing Aids to Needy
BOARDMAN, Ohio -- The second annual hearing mission of Centers for Hearing Care is set for Dec. 18 at the corporate office here. The mission is designed to give 25 people with impaired hearing and in critical financial need free brand-new hearing aids, says the owner, Dr. Sheryl Figliano.
Last year, 22 local people received free hearing aids.
In addition to being fitted with hearing aids, recipients will receive audio testing, a year’s supply of batteries and instruction on how to care for their new devices.
“It is not enough to simply receive the hearing aid. Each recipient must know how to use and care for it,” said Figliano, also an audiologist.
For more than 14 years, the staff from Centers for Hearing Care has traveled to remote places to provide the less fortunate with thousands of ear cleanings and free hearing aids, Figliano says. A differenent satisfaction comes from helping residents of the Valey. The company has seven offices in northeastern Ohio.
Those who need a hearing examination or heaing aid but cannot afford the cost may call the centers at 330 779 8096 by Nov. 18 to determine eligibility.
