YSU Students Offer Graphics, Design Help
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Youngstown Design Works, a design agency operated by graphics and interactive-design students at Youngstown State University, will continue its program of providing design services to the community with a program today through Friday.
Student assistance will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day at the Oak Hill Collaborative on Oak Hill Avenue. Interested companies, nonprofits, small businesses, startups, community groups and sole proprietors can schedule an appointment for a consultation by visiting the website below.
The students will help businesses with their creative needs, from new logos and websites to advertising and branding materials. The Youngstown Design Works students will be in residence at Oak Hill Collaborative to providing these services.
R.J. Thompson, assistant professor of graphic and interactive design studies and director of Youngstown Design Works, said the success of the inaugural program last June in Warren prompted the student agency to look for additional opportunities.
“The students gain valuable professional experience by learning what the client wants and delivering quality design services,” he said. “Working with each client allows them to build a relationship, which we hope can be ongoing. We are offering practical experience for our students while engaging with the community.”
