Youngstown Campus of Eastern Gateway Hosts Tours
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Valley Center of Eastern Gateway Community College in the downtown will host “Tour, Explore, Enroll Days” Saturday, Monday and Dec. 16 for those interested in enrolling for the spring term.
Tours of the center include seeing classrooms, computer labs, admissions counselors, financial aid officers and advising offices.
Exploring college courses and programs of study will take place as well, and admissions and advising staff will be available to discuss students’ options.
Registration is open Monday through Friday, but the tour, explore and enrollment events are open to potential students and their families from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and Dec. 16.
Interested students may apply to the college. Registration requirements include a high school or GED transcript and any previous college transcript. After applying, the student takes free placement testing, which helps the student and academic adviser determine the best courses for the student to take when starting college.
If the student attended another college, testing may be waived if he produces that college transcript. Students may take classes at the Valley Center, other delivery locations or online.
Students may start applying for financial aid by bringing their 2012 tax statements to the tour events. Registration for classes is open until they start Jan. 13.
If a student has questions, he should call the Valley Center at 330 480 0726.
