Registration Closes Friday for Education in Workplace
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Friday is the deadline to enroll in the Educator in the Manufacturing Workplace, a program supported by the Oh-Penn Interstate Region Pathways to Competitiveness Project.
The program allows participants to better understand the context of subject matter with real-world examples at a manufacturing workplace in the Mahoning and Shenango valleys. The experience allows educators to witness how the subject is applied and learn about the soft skills employers need.
Educators will work with an employer host to develop a schedule for the on-site job experience and will complete 32 hours of shadowing between June 21 and Aug. 9.
There will be a mandatory four-hour orientation - one for Ohio educators and one for Pennsylvania educators.
Among the benefits for manufacturers are an opportunity to what how teachers presentto their students and to reach potential employees as well as inclusion as an employer host in press releases and eNewsletter articles and a framed certificate of participation.
For more information, call Paula McMillin, coordinator of Educator in the Manufacturing Workplace, at 724 652 3619.
