PSU Shenango Sets Events
SHARON, Pa. -- The Penn State Shenango Business Club's Entrepreneurship and Innovation Fest is scheduled Oct. 27 as is the Penn State Shenango Information and Technology Club’s annual fall computer recycling event.
The schedule for the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Fest has refreshments and a welcome at 9 a.m. followed by a presentation on “Marketing Yourself for Your Next Job Opportunity” by Adam Devine of Devine Inspirations. At 11 a.m., a writing workshop on grants and pProposals will be offered by Rhonda Williamson, coordinator for continuing eEducation at the campus, followed by lunch break and speed networking opportunity. The campus Lions’ Den will be open to purchase food.
The afternoon workshops begin at 1 p.m. with a presentation on self-employment by Derek Vasconi from Sakura Publishing. The event concludea with a resume workshop at 2 p.m. presented by Heidi Friedrich, coordinator/counselor for career services at the campus and Larry Gorski, senior vice president for human resources at F.N.B. Corp.
The event is sponsored by Penn State Shenango, First National Bank, Quaker Steak and Lube, Penn State Shenango Alumni Society, Flynn’s Tire and Auto Services and AVI Food Systems.
The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Fest will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Sharon Hall, room 108, the recycling event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the faculty parking lot on Penn Avenue next to the Penn State science building. Personal computers less than 10 years old will accepted. Old-style “cathode ray tube” computer monitors will be accepted for a $20 fee.
