Humorist Sedaris to Deliver Skeggs Lecture
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Best-selling author and humorist David Sedaris will read an excerpt from his latest book, Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls, at 7 p.m. Oct. 30 in the DeYor Performing Arts Center. The free presentation is part of Youngstown State University’s Skeggs Lecture series.
Sedaris is the author of Barrel Fever and Holidays on Ice as well as collections of personal essays, each of which became a bestseller. Seven million copies of his books are in print, and they have been translated into 25 languages. He and his sister, Amy Sedaris, have collaborated under the name “The Talent Family” and have written a half-dozen plays produced at La Mama, Lincoln Center and the Drama Department in New York City.
Tickets for the 7 p.m. presentation are mandatory, limited to four per person and must be picked up in person between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Oct. 15 through Oct. 17 (or until they run out) at the Information and PC Lab in Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus.
