Export Internship Program Looks to Place Students
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio Export Internship Program is looking to place more than 30 students with Ohio companies with the desire to export their goods or services.
“This program provides amazing opportunities,” said David Goodman, director of Ohio Development Services Agency. “Not only does it provide students the skills they need to land a job, it also gives companies looking to expand into new markets a competitive edge.”
This internship program is a partnership with Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. Goal of the internship program is to help Ohio companies focus on increasing their global exports as they educate students in international business. The program provides a 50% reimbursement for the wages paid an intern.
In the first two years of the program, 28 student-company matches were made, resulting in more than $7.7 million in expected global sales and three full-time job offers, Goodman said.
The deadline for companies to apply is Jan. 15, 2014, and the 2014 internship program runs from May 12 through Aug. 8. Companies may submit an application at this website.
