Edinboro University Cuts Tuition Costs for Ohio Students
EDINBORO, Pa. -- Edinboro University will reduce out-of-state tuition for the first time for students enrolling in the university for the fall semester.
The reduction is the equivalent of a $3,000 scholarship and makes the cost of attending comparable to the price Ohio students would pay at many institutions in their home state, university officials say.
The Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education recently approved a proposal to bring tuition for out-of-state students entering Edinboro into closer alignment with the cost for Pennsylvania residents. Out-of-state tuition at other universities in the state system remains at 150% or more of in-state tuition.
“We know that families have hard decisions to make as they weigh quality and cost in higher education," said Dr. Scott Miller, acting director of undergraduate admissions. "It’s great to be able to make that calculation much simpler for those who would like to pursue success at Edinboro.”
Edinboro’s location in northwest Pennsylvania also makes it an appealing choice for higher education, Miller said. The university is located in the Interstate 79 corridor, with convenient access to Interstate 90, Interstate 80 and the Pennsylvania and Ohio turnpikes. It is minutes from Erie, Pa., and within two hours of Cleveland, Buffalo and Pittsburgh.
