Brazilian Students, Faculty Visit YSU, Tour Businesses
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Williamson College of Business Administration at Youngstown State University is playing host to MBA students and graduate faculty from the University of Sào Paulo in Brazil for their 15th annual business-study tour this week. The group will be here through Friday.
Brazilian students and faculty will attend business lectures and tour businesses in the region such as Best Buy, Home Depot, Walmart Distribution Center, Sam’s Club, IKEA in Pittsburgh, and Kroger stores and Cabelas in West Virginia, said Betty Jo Licata, dean of Williamson.
Seminars about business-to-business marketing, emerging trends in marketing communication, tools for strategic decision making, and business perspectives -- international as well as in the United States at both the state and local levels -- will be presented by YSU faculty and representatives from the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber.
The visit is part of YSU’s Center of Excellence in International Business. Its mission is sustaining global learning environment that prepares students to be successful business leaders. To this end, it provides training, consulting, and research that advances knowledge and practice in international business and supports the economic development of Ohio.
