96% of Grove City Grads Working, in Grad School
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- A degree from Grove City College is no guarantee of financial success. But six months after they graduated, nearly every member of the class of 2013 either has a job or is furthering his education, the college reports.
Ninety-six percent of the most recent graduating class is employed or in a graduate or professional school, according to the college's Career Services Office. That figure matches the numbers for the class of 2012 six months after they graduated. The 22% of 2013 graduates seeking higher degrees or further training is a 2% increase over the last class.
Grove City College is ranked 17th in the nation for career services by the Princeton Review for its “dynamic and active efforts to help students get started on future career paths.”
The Career Services Office of the college works along various routes to help students get a leg up on their post-graduation goals, said the director, Jim Thrasher. His office invites employers to visit the Grove City campus to recruit students through on-campus interviews, job and internship postings and a massive career fair in the fall. It also taps into the college’s strong alumni network to help students and alumni satisfy their career goals. The office helps guide students through a four-year process that encourages self-assessment, career exploration and strategic job searches.
