West Corp. Looks to Hire 200 at Niles Call Center
NILES, Ohio -- West Corp. hopes to fill 200 additional technical associate positions here by the end of 2013 to serve one of its existing clients, the company announced.
The additional positions are to meet expanded demand from the client, a leading wireless telecommunications provider, said David Pleiss, vice president, investor and public relations, for the Omaha-based company. "We hope to hire 200 by the end of the year but the hiring will continue beyond that," he said. Hiring for the positions is under way now.
West now employs approximately 800 representatives at the Niles call center, which it has operated for almost nine years. West took over the Route 422 building previously occupied by the defunct MCI Worldcom, and by Kmart prior to that.
“We are thrilled to be growing our workforce in Niles again,” said Pat Cascarelli, director of human resources for the West call center. “This expansion will help us continue to provide amazing career opportunities to even more people in the community.”
The Niles site was chosen because of the "quality of the work at this location with our client," Pleiss said. The associates, who will provide technical assistance to the wireless provider's customers, will earn $10.50 per hour and qualify for full-time benefits such as health care and the company 401(k) plan after 100 days.
Applicants should have at least six months of customer service experience, intermediate computer skills and the ability to work flexible shifts. Individuals can apply at the West call center at 5185 Youngstown-Warren Road or online.
