Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership Vies for $10K Prize
WARREN, Ohio -- Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership has been selected as the sole finalist from Ohio in the fifth annual Tom’s of Maine “50 States for Good” community giving program.
The nonprofit has a chance to win $10,000 in support of its efforts, in cooperation with the Trumbull 100 and Gregg’s Gardens, to revitalize central city residential neighborhoods.
Through a public vote at 50StatesforGood.com until Oct. 15, supporters can vote to bring the funding to Warren with the click of a mouse.
The online initiative seeks to uncover nonprofit groups that address community needs and engage volunteers to get the work done. TNP’s central city project entails activities designed to make Warren’s first neighborhood more livable by planting vegetable gardens, replacing vacant lots with wildflower gardens, installing public art and injecting optimism into neighborhood that has struggled for decades.
“Our partnership with the Trumbull 100 and Gregg’s Gardens has accomplished a great deal and winning the $10,000 prize would translate immediately into more gardens, more art and more hope for Warren’s central city,” said Matt Martin, executive director of TNP, in a prepared statement.
A panel of independent judges chose the nonprofit finalists from each state from more than 1,000 nominations.
The mission of Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership is to empower residents and promote sustainable community development through projects and programs that increase the quality of life in Warren's neighborhoods. TNP works in every neighborhood.
To help Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership win $10,000, readers should vote for TNP on the Tom’s of Maine Facebook page. A Facebook account is required to vote.
