State Awards $388K for Geneva Site Cleanup
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The State Controlling Board voted Monday to award $388,455 Monday from the Clean Ohio Assistance Fund to the city of Geneva for cleanup activities at the former True Temper site there.
Upon remediation, Ironhead LLC has committed to develop the property for the expansion of Arthur Lewis Steel Corp., a metal fabricating company that owns property adjacent to the North Cedar Street site. Ironhead will invest about $1.2 million for the project, which will include construction of a 24,000-square-foot fabrication facility, permitting Lewis Steel to double its size, according to state documents.
Lewis Steel will contribute $210,000 in matching dollars for property acquisition.
The company projects retaining 12 jobs and creating 10 jobs though the expansion.
