Senior Obama Officials to Make Announcement at M-7
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Senior White House officials today will visit M-7 Technologies here, where they are expected to make a major announcement regarding American manufacturing.
White House National Economic Council Director Gene Sperling, Acting U.S. Commerce Secretary Rebecca Blank, Under Secretary of Defense Frank Kendall and other senior Obama Administration officials will tour M-7 and discuss “the importance of American manufacturing,” the White House said in an advisory released Wednesday.
U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-17 Ohio, will join the administration officials on the tour and “discuss boosting exports and manufacturing in northeast Ohio,” according to statements issued by their respective offices. Following their remarks, Blank, Sperling and Kendall will participate in a media roundtable.
Vice President Joe Biden toured the plant July 2 on a campaign swing across Ohio, and touted M-7 as a factory that shows how manufacturing is coming back in the Midwest. Biden also used the event to slam Mitt Romney's business record at Bain Capital.
M7’s website identifies the company’s products and services as metrology inspection, laser scanning and reverse engineering services. Industries served include advanced energy, aerospace, environmental, petroleum, construction, fabrication, defense, automotive, material handling, and heavy industrial markets.
