Project Calls at America Makes for Air Force Research
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- America Makes, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute based downtown, is announcing two new special topic project calls on behalf of the Air Force Research Laboratory, manufacturing technology division.
The special project topics are Powder Bed Fusion of Thermoplastics Closed-loop Process Control and Open Source Process Control for Powder Bed AM Research. Up to two awards of $405,000 each will be made for the thermoplastics project call and up to two awards of $540,000 will be made for the open source process control topic. A start date of Oct. 15 is anticipated for the projects, which are expected to run 18 months.
Teams will have six weeks to develop their proposals, which will be evaluated according to technical criteria with winning proposals selected by the America Makes team and the Air Force Research Laboratory
Proposals must be submitted via email by Aug. 29, and all submissions will be acknowledged by a return email.
To be eligible all team members on a proposed team must be America Makes members by the submission deadline. More information about the project calls is available here.
