Port Authority Opens Office in Penguin Place
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The economic development department of the Western Reserve Port Authority has relocated its offices to Penguin Place, 236 N. Champion St. The port authority’s development staff was based in an office at the Youngstown Business Incubator downtown.
The port authority had been searching for more than a year for new office space, said Sarah Lown, senior economic development manager. “It was important for us to find acceptable space in Mahoning County to balance our presence at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport in Trumbull County,” she said. “We also wanted to be connected to YSU and the downtown area, two of the places that are focal points of the Valley’s economic resurgence. Our new location meets both those criteria.”
Additionally, the new offices will provide needed space to host meetings with the port authority’s economic development partners as well as investors, business owners and managers, and public officials who are interested in learning more about WRPA’s unique financing and funding tools.
“We’re looking forward to our new headquarters becoming the hub for discussions that will drive growth and innovation for years to come,” Lown said.
