Ohio Has 4th-Best Business Climate: Site Selection
ATLANTA -- Site Selection magazine says Ohio has the fourth-best business climate among the 50 states, and the executives it surveyed ranked Ohio as having the 10th-best business climate.
The magazine found that Georgia had the best business climate while the executives surveyed said Texas has the best. Site Selection ranked North Carolina first last year; it came in second this year.
The site selectors the editors of the magazine used to evaluate the business climates of the states this year were: “existing workforce skills, transportation infrastructure, state and local tax scheme, utility infrastructure, land/building prices and supply, ease of permitting and regulatory procedures, flexibility of incentive programs, availability of incentives, union activity, access to higher-education resources.
Rounding out the Top 10 state business climates were Texas, third; and five through 10 were Tennessee, Louisiana, South Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky and Indiana.
As ranked by the executives’ survey, South Carolina was second, North Carolina third, Georgia fourth, Florida fifth, Tennessee sixth, Indiana, seventh, Alabama eighth and Virginia ninth.
