Mahoning County Names Mosure to WRPA Board
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Mahoning County Board of Commissioners this morning filled the final open slot on the Western Reserve Port Authority’s board of directors, naming David Mosure to the board.
Today’s appointment of Mosure, who is vice president of MS Consultants Inc. in Youngstown, follows Trumbull County Commissioners’ recent appointments of businessman Sam Covelli and attorney David Detec to the WRPA board.
Mosure’s appointment will run through Dec. 31, 2016. He will fill the unexpired term of Richard Schiraldi, who stepped down earlier this year.
Mosure said his goal with the port authority is to “create economic development” in the Mahoning Valley. He was interested in the appointment because of his experience in public works construction his interested in “seeing what Bill Lyden has created and making sure that it continues to do the job that he intended to do,” he related.
Mosure told commissioners he is grateful for the appointment and “won’t let you down.” He also described the appointments of Covelli and Detec as “stellar.”
Mosure brings his experience as an engineer and his company’s experience in both Mahoning and Trumbull counties as well as across Ohio, Mahoning County Commissioner Carol Rimedio-Righetti said.
“I feel good about the members that are there,” she said. “We’re going to go forward now and move forward in the right direction.”
