Initiative Committee OKs Dollars for Kiraly, Giovanni's
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Initiative Committee approved an $8,042 performance grant to assist Kiraly Tool & Die with its purchase of a new piece of equipment that will help it to expand its product line.
“We’re just expanding our capacities,” remarked Steven Kiraly, owner. The new CNC machine, which will cost just under $100,000, will allow the company to make smaller parts more aggressively and more precisely, he said. “This specific machine is unique to small parts.”
The project will allow the company to add two full-time positions and retain 12, said T. Sharon Woodberry, city economic development director.
Additionally, the committee, which met Wednesday, approved an increase in its grant to Giovanni’s Catering & Banquet Hall, from $90,979, to $100,000. The company sought the additional funds due to increased heating, ventilation and air conditioning costs related to its project, Woodberry said. Giovanni's is renovated the former ITAM American Club at 113 S. Meridian Road.
The committee also approved a $2,731 grant for One Hot Cookie LLC for upgrades to its point-of-sale system, working capital and the purchase of kitchen equipment, as well as funds for Meals on Wheels of Knox Church Inc., which is relocating, and technical assistance funds for Community of Faith Credit Union.
