Franklin Cites Image for Creating Warren's Vitality
WARREN, Ohio -- In his third annual State of the City Address, Mayor Doug Franklin cited “the image we present of our city” as the top factor in creating economic viability, and touted recent economic development achievements such as Laird Technologies’ decision to bring 200 jobs to the city.
Franklin delivered the speech Wednesday afternoon in City Council Chambers at the municipal building. During the speech, he also addressed the city’s heritage, reviewed city operations and “creating our future” through redefining its neighborhoods and addressing quality of life issues.
"Last year we were pleased to point out that things were beginning to stabilize due to some smart decisions and good planning of our city officials and help from our partners," the mayor said. "Now in the third year of our administration we have already seen many signs that the planning, preparation, and collaboration with those partners are starting to bear fruit and we as a city are starting the climb back to being a strong and vibrant community once again"
