Cafaro Foundation Gives Chamber $100K for Trumbull Development
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Cafaro Foundation announced Tuesday that it is awarding a $100,000 grant to the Youngstown-Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce Foundation to bolster the chamber’s economic development efforts in Trumbull County.
In making its announcement, the foundation said, "The Regional Chamber already has an impressive record of success in Trumbull County. Since 1991, its development professionals have made 7,137 visits to retain and expand businesses. They have completed 259 projects, resulting in $2,560,423,487 in business investment and 9,965 new jobs. Just as important, the chamber’s work has helped the county retain 20,924 existing jobs."
The president of the chamber, Tom Humphries, equated the financial support from the Cafaro Foundation as "directly related to the Regional Chamber’s performance in Trumbull County and the hundreds of jobs that we have helped to create and retain each year, for the past several years."
The foundation made a similar grant of $100,000 to the chamber in 2012.
The Cafaro Foundation is a charitable entity established by the Cafaro family in memory of William M. Cafaro, the founder of the real estate development and management company that bears his name. Since its inception in 1996, the Cafaro Foundation has awarded millions of dollars in grants to worthy organizations and individuals.
