Regional Chamber Solicits Participants for YOUNG 2013
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The third annual Youngstown, Ohio Utica and Natural Gas -- or YOUNG -- Conference & Expo 2013, will once again connect regional businesses with industry executives and companies now developing eastern Ohio's Utica shale.
Presented by the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, the YOUNG 2013 conference is scheduled for Sept. 11-13, with events taking place in downtown Youngstown and Boardman. As in past years, the YOUNG conference will feature vendors, sponsors, exhibitors and a host of oil and gas industry specialists.
"It's all about the contacts and the people that you meet here," remarked Bergen Giordani, the chamber's director for special events. This year, in addition to local, regional and national industry and civic leaders, a delegation from Canada will attend the conference.
Kicking off with a casino night-themed welcoming reception at the Holiday Inn Boardman the evening of Sept. 11, YOUNG 2013 continues the next day, Sept. 12, with a daylong trade show at the Covelli Centre. In addition to the exhibits, speakers addressing the three segments of the oil and gas industry – upstream/exploration and production, midstream and downstream – will appear on the main stage.
A reception following the day's events will take place 6 p.m. at the Tyler Mahoning Valley History Center downtown.
"We've added an extra networking event at the request of the attendees and exhibitors last year … so the networking and contacts that you make at the conference can continue into the evening," Giordani said. "We're really excited to share that little gem with people from outside the area."
The agenda for the final day of the conference, Sept. 13, will feature extended speakers and smaller break out sessions. A full agenda will be available by mid-July, chamber officials said. Last year, the YOUNG 2012 forum attracted 125 exhibitors and sponsors, and 1,200 attendees.
In addition to opportunities to attend and exhibit at the conference, sponsorship opportunities also are available, Giordani said. "The really great thing about our sponsorships is they range in price," she continued. "So for several hundred dollars a local company can be involved and have their name out there with national and even global oil and gas executives."
Exhibitor and attendee registration is now open. Registration packets are available for download at the conference website. A select number of sponsorships remain for the event, and those interested should contact Giordani via email or at 330 744 2131 ext. 21.
