Consol Completes Fracking at Well in North Jackson
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Consol Energy reports it has completed hydraulic fracturing at the Cadle well in North Jackson, its first multi-well pad in the Utica shale play.
The first well at the site, designated the company’s MAH 7 pad, was drilled laterally 5,411 feet, Consol says. The second well, the MAH 7C, was drilled 5,290 feet horizontally. The wells “were stimulated in 18 and 16 frac stages, respectively, the company reports. “Both wells are currently shut-in for frac water dissipation and flowback is expected to begin late in the second quarter.”
At Consol’s well on the Hendricks property in Ellsworth Township, the MAH 2A well, completion work was finished in the first quarter, the company reports. The lateral length of the well is 2,785 feel; it was fractured in nine stages. After a 60-day shut-in period, this well tested at a 24-hour flow rate of 1.4 million cubic feet of natural gas a day and 240 barrels of oil per.
Consol currently has two drilling rigs in the Utica, both of them in Noble County. This year the company said it expects to drill 11 Utica wells, all of them in Noble County.
Consol’s joint venture partner, Hess Corp., drilled on well in Harrison County during the first quarter and is currently drilling wells in Guernsey and Harrison counties.
Hess plans to drill 16 joint wells during 2013.
