Concord Energy to Open Parkersburg Transload Facility
PARKERSBURG, W.Va. -- Concord Energy LLC, an affiliate of Denver-based Concord Energy Holdings LLC, says it will open a truck-to-rail transload site here to transport condensate and natural gas liquids produced in the Utica and Marcellus shale plays.
Concord Energy did not provide investment or job-creation numbers for its transload project.
The transportation and logistics company operates in most major gas and oil production basins in the United States, according to its announcement. Its West Virginia facility, which the company says will open in mid-August, will enable Concord to transport more than 150,000 billion barrels of crude oil condensate and NGLs per month and provide producers access to downstream markets.
The company says its new terminal should reduce freight costs for operators in southeast Ohio and northwest West Virginia. It will have the capability to load light condensates, stabilized condensate, raw NGL mix, and purity NGL products.
Concord Energy is partnering with the Little Kanawha Railroad at the site; products will then be transferred and shipped long-distance via CSX Railroad. The site also includes warehouse space, lay-down areas and highway and river access. Plans are in development to increase throughput capacity and add storage over the next 12 months, the company says.
