Anti-Fracking Activist Responds to Wenger's Q&A
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- As the May 7 primary vote draws near, anti-fracking activists are stepping up their efforts to convince city voters to pass the proposed charter amendment known as the Community Bill of Rights.
Lynn Anderson, one of the most vocal members of FrackFreeMahoning, has posted a lengthy response to what she terms ”Alan D. Wenger’s Polemical and Partisan Q&A Regaring the Proposed Youngstown Charter Amendment” (CLICK HERE)
Wenger, chair of the oil and gas law practice group at Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell Lt., released a seven-page document April 11 that listed the drawbacks of the so-called Community Bill of Rights (CLICK HERE).
Proponents say the charter amendment would protect the rights of citizens to oversee activities related to the oil and gas industry. Opponents say it violates state and federal law, would negatively affect landowners and offers no protection to the environment.
Wenger developed his document in support of the Mahoning Valley Coalition for Job Growth and Investment (READ STORY), of which he is a member. At the time, the Business Journal provided a link to Wenger’s PDF.
In the interest of fairness, we are now providing a link to Anderson’s response, posted by FrackFreeMahoning.
