133 Pipeline Projects in Ohio, Report Finds
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- A Columbus law firm tracking developments in Ohio’s emerging oil and gas industry reports a total of 133 pipeline projects are in the planning stages or underway in the state. The industry report by the Benesch firm was released Friday; it is the latest in quarterly industry summaries published by the firm.
Of the 133 pipeline projects, MarkWest Energy Partners of Denver has 52, Cardinal Gas Services 50 and Utica East Ohio Midstream 14, according to the report.
“As infrastructure plans and construction move forward, this will also bring a shift in land leasing activity from drilling rights to pipeline access rights," the report notes.
Among the midstream projects the report lists are:
- The Pennant Midstream gas processing plant and pipeline network in Springfield Township.
- Plans by MarkWest Utica EMG to construct a third cryogenic gas processing facility in Noble County.
- An announcement by Williams Partners and Shell that the companies have agreed to launch Three Rivers Midstream, which will invest in infrastructure serving Marcellus and Utica Shale wells.
