Covelli Enterprises Buys 11 Dayton Panera Cafes
WARREN, Ohio -- Covelli Enterprises announced Tuesday it has acquired 11 more Panera Bread bakery-cafes in the Dayton area.
The company, Panera Bread’s largest franchisee with stores in five states and Canada, now owns more than 100 Panera restaurants in Ohio, including its recently opened second location in Boardman. It operates six stand-alone stores in Mahoning and Trumbull counties plus two Panera/Dairy Queen stores on the Ohio Turnpike in Mahoning County.
The company says it expects to open 30 stores in 2014 and has aggressive plans for growth in the Dayton market.
“We’re very proud and excited to expand our business right here in Ohio where we are headquartered,” said Sam Covelli, owner/operator of Covelli Enterprises. “As our company continues to grow, we realize that none of this would have been possible without the loyalty of the people of the Valley where this company started over 50 years ago. We are extremely proud to call this Valley home.”
