Wean Foundation Announces Staff Changes
WARREN, Ohio -- The Raymond John Wean Foundation today announced several staff additions and changes. The reorganization streamlines operations and strengthens the foundation’s core commitment to its five issue priorities: early childhood (0-5), educational opportunity, economic opportunity, community revitalization and public and civic sector leadership, foundation officials say
“For 65 years the Wean Foundation has remained committed to creating the capacity for growth in the Mahoning Valley,” said Jennifer Roller, who in March was named foundation president. “Having identified the organizational structure necessary to allow us to increase our capacity to collaborate and support community efforts, I am confident and excited to work with such a highly qualified team.”
The foundation added Beverly-Ann Burks and Joette Orsini to the foundation’s staff.
Burks, as program officer for resident engagement, is primarily responsible for developing relationships with partners aligned with the foundation’s work. She works with the foundation president to support the foundation’s issue priorities by engaging with grantees in support of strategic development toward building their capacity. She also directs strategy and implementation of the Neighborhood SUCCESS and Leadership Program.
Orsini joins the staff as office manager, a role in which she will serve as first point of contact and will be responsible for organizing the foundation’s daily operations including facilities, vendor services and overall staff support.
Additionally, Corrie Adams, former program associate for Neighborhood SUCCESS and Leadership, will serve as emergent leaders liaison, alumni relations, coordinating and providing leadership development experiences for emerging leader alumni. She also develops relationships with community partners to create opportunities for residents to participate in community decision-making processes
Cheryl Crooks, who has been with the foundation for more than 15 years, is now the foundation’s business and grants officer, serving as the business/financial liaison to regulatory agencies, financial institutions and others. She also communicates with grant seekers and grantees regarding foundation grant-making programs, procedures and reporting.
Lori Wiebe, who joined the foundation in 2012 as office manager, is now administrative and special projects officer, who coordinates the daily operations of the president’s office and manages the foundation’s external communication platforms. She also serves as project director for the foundation’s annual nonprofit summit and its corresponding nonprofit capacity-building events.
