Video Showcasing Packard Music Hall Makes Debut
WARREN, Ohio -- “A Legacy Reborn: The Rebirth of the W.D. Packard Music Hall,” a short documentary showcasing the history of the W.D. Packard Music Hall here, is now available online (CLICK HERE). The film can be found on The W.D. Packard Band’s website, and a link can be found on the W.D. Packard Music Hall’s Facebook page, or the 2 Ticks & The Dog Productions YouTube channel.
Released July 3, the documentary highlights the history of the music hall through nearly 60 years as an entertainment destination. The film recognizes the legacy of automotive industry pioneer William Doud Packard, and the trust he left for the creation of the Packard Music Hall and the W.D. Packard Concert Band.
Among community leaders and Packard Music Hall employees interviewed for the film were Thom Groth, Packard Concert Band director; Chris Stephenson, auditorium manager; and Warren Councilman Vince Flask. The documentary also highlights upcoming developments in the venue’s future, including the recent hiring of JAC Management Group LLC, which operates the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, to manage programming at the hall. Featured in the film is the recent press conference detailing the hall’s future held by Mayor Doug Franklin and JAC Management CEO Eric Ryan, and attended by U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan.
2 Ticks & The Dog Productions involved several interns from area colleges on the project, to equip them with firsthand experience they’ll be able to carry into their future careers in the production industry. “While interning at 2 Ticks & The Dog Productions, not only did I learn to better my skills in editing and cinematography, but also got to see how this business works,” said production intern Gary Minnie, a senior majoring in video and 3-D production.
