Turning Technologies Unveils New Response Tools
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Turning Technologies, an innovator of audience response technology, is releasing new tools designed for the meetings and event industry.
Turning’s new ResponseCard SE is a low cost, single event use keypad designed with a short term life of up to 10 days that eliminates the need for post-event collection or management of devices, the company said. Combined with new TurningPoint Lite software, which enables engagement with simple start/stop polling options, the two products “are the ideal solution set for event planners and audio-visual providers," states the announcement.
While the ResponseCard SE uses the same radio frequency technology as other ResponseCards, it has been reengineered to incorporate major cost reductions that ensure reliability while shortening its usable lifespan. It operates on patented two-way radio frequency (RF) technology and is not limited to line-of-sight transmission. Responses to interactive polling questions are transmitted to an RF receiver plugged into a USB port. An LED light on the keypad indicates that responses have been received.
“ResponseCard SE is the most reliable and scalable offering available for the events market,” said Turning Technologies’ CEO Mike Broderick. “In keeping with our focus on the meetings industry, we will introduce TurningPoint Lite as the software complement to the SE. TurningPoint Lite is a streamlined version of TurningPoint that simply offers quick polling and charts for engagement purposes. Both products were developed for easy implementation that any meeting facilitator can employ.”
ResponseCard SE is available now. TurningPoint Lite will be released in summer 2014.
Turning Technologies also announced Wednesday that it is releasing new response tools designed to respond to interactive polling questions and accommodate various meeting environments. The new QT Device is a radio frequency keypad that features a QWERTY keyboard and input for richer data collection.
ResponseWare 2.0 is an update to the company's mobile response product that allows participants to respond with web-enabled devices, improving user interface, decreasing bandwidth and adding new features. "The launch of these new response tools is directly related to our agile approach to development that allows us to address emerging customer needs," said Broderick.
