Rise Pies Chain to Launch at Boardman Shops
BOARDMAN, Ohio -- Rise Pies, the first unit in a planned national chain of fast casual pizza restaurants, will open Sept. 2 in the Shops at Boardman Park, principals announced Monday. Construction at 439 Boardman-Poland Road, previously occupied by the former Peet’s Coffee & Tea and Cold Stone Creamery, began last week.
In addition to the Boardman location, a second location is planned at the new University Town Center in Sarasota, Fla. in October and additional lease contracts are lined up around the country.
“The pizza found in Youngstown is some of the best in the country. It’s what we’re known for locally and can be nationally. So we wanted to create a dining experience that combined the pace of a fast casual restaurant with the taste of Youngstown -- and bring it to a national audience,” said Eddie Muransky of the Muransky Companies and president of Rise Pies.
Patrons at the restaurant will be able to create their own pizza for as little as $4.99 to be ready in less than three minutes. Diners can choose from a menu of specially-crafted pizzas or select their own dough, sauce, cheeses, meats and vegetables to create a one-of-a-kind pie. The restaurant’s motto is “Pizza Perfection in 160 Seconds.”
Muransky, the son of Ed Muransky, has partnered with Vernon Cesta, of Vernon’s Café and V2 Wine Bar & Trattoria, and Cesta’s business partner, Ed Moses of V2, on the concept. The restaurant will feature dough and sauce made fresh daily in-house, locally sourced vegetables and both gluten-free and wheat dough alternatives. The restaurants will be outfitted with Wood Stone Fire Deck Ovens capable of reaching temperatures up to 900 degrees.
“When launching Rise Pies, we really thought Youngstown would be the perfect place for this franchise to begin. Our vision is to put a national spotlight on the great pizza found in our Valley, and what better place to start than right here at home,” Muransky said.
Rise Pies will host two job fairs in August to fill positions at the restaurant. Information will be released at a later date, the company said.
