Quaker Steak Signs Deal to Open 4 Restaurants
SHARON, Pa. -- Casual-dining franchise Quaker Steak & Lube Tuesday signed an area development agreement with Albatross Group LLC for four restaurants throughout Virginia and Tennessee, the first to open in Bristol, Va., next spring.
John Longstreet, president and CEO of Quaker Steak, made the announcment and said the other three will open “over the next several years.”
The restaurant in Bristol will convert an existing building to the brand's Power Lube prototype, a design that made its debut in Boardman, Ohio. It will encompass some 7,000 square feet, including the brickyard patio and bars, and accommodate seating for more than 220 people. The company plans to hire between 50 and 60 employees.
Currently, Quaker Steak & Lube has four locations across Virginia and one in Tennessee. "We are excited to bring The Lube to Bristol as we continue our aggressive expansion, which would not be possible without our dedicated area developers at Albatross Group LLC, who are committed to the company's success," Longstreet said in a prepared statement.
Quaker Steak & Lube, founded in 1974, was built in an abandoned service station here.
