Pecchia Communications Hires Former Chamber VP
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Tony Paglia, a local news veteran and former vice president of government and media affairs for the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber, has joined Pecchia Communications as senior consultant, the company announced today.
Paglia will work with companies in the Mahoning and Shenango valleys on public relations, government relations and marketing programs.
“Tony’s addition provides a huge lift to our company and our clients,” said Dan Pecchia, president of Pecchia Communications. “In addition to exceptional talent and experience, Tony brings an excellent reputation for honesty and fairness in all of his dealings.”
In his seven years with the chamber, Paglia served as an advocate for the business community on government and media matters. He also coordinated the chamber’s Government Affairs Council, the political engagement and policy arm of the chamber, and Grow Mahoning Valley, a coalition of business, government and labor leaders that promotes infrastructure projects to improve the Valley’s economy.
Paglia founded the Mahoning Valley Local Government Leadership Academy, was a leader in the formation of the Northeast Ohio Education Partnership and brought together business, labor and political leaders to form the Mahoning Valley Coalition for Job Growth and Investment, which promotes the shale industry and related economic development.
Before joining the chamber, Paglia worked for The Vindicator. Previously, he was press secretary in Washington, D.C., for U.S. Rep. Joseph P. Vigorito from Erie, Pa. and a reporter with the Sharon Herald. He has also served as an adjunct journalism instructor at Youngstown State University.
He is a graduate of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.
