Pa. Table Games, Casino Revenues Rise in May
HARRISBURG, Pa. -- Income from the play of table games at Pennsylvania casinos during May was 2.3% higer than revenues in May 2013, he Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported Monday. Gross table games revenue generated by 12 casinos was $64,176,092, or $1,417,594 higher than in May 2013.
With an average of 1,091 tables in operation statewide every day, tax revenues produced last month were $9,231,300, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board said
In western Pennsylvania, gross revenues were $1,084,561 at Presque Isle Downs and Casino in Erie compared with $1,325,482 for May 2013. The casino had 46 tables in operation both years.
At Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh, gross revenues of $5,766,476 compare with $5,531,932 in May 2013. Rivers had 113 tables in operation last month but 114 a year ago.
Coupled with figures on slot machine revenues released earlier this month, gross revenues from both slots and tables were $275,006,769, slightly higher than the $274,003,634 generated in May 2013.
All 12 casinos in operation offer both slot machines and table game gambling, employ more than 16,000 and collectively generate an average of $4 million per day in tax revenues, the board says.
