Niles Expanded Metals Acquires Oklahoma Plant
NILES, Ohio -- Niles Expanded Metals & Plastics announced Tuesday it has purchased Oklahoma-based MetalSpand Inc., a move that will position the company for new markets in the central United States and the Gulf Coast region, principals say.
Terms were not disclosed.
"This is a great fit for Niles, as we have always considered an expansion into these territories that are key to the expanded metal market positioning and distribution," said Bill Phillips Jr., president of Niles Expanded Metals.
The merged operation will operate under the name of MetalSpand by Niles, the company said.
The newly acquired plant in Waurika, Okla., is being retooled to increase the efficiency and output of carbon steel expanded metals and gratings, the company said. Aluminum and stainless steel expanded metals are available for immediate shipment.
The Oklahoma plant will also offer manufacturing and distribution capability for Niles Fence and Security Products, a division that produces expanded metal fence systems, security cages, security meshes and accessories, Phillips said.
"MetalSpand has a solid customer base and we appreciate their loyalty," the CEO said. "We will work relentlessly to ensure the success of our newly acquired expanded metal manufacturing company."
Niles Expanded Metals & Plastics, a division of Niles International, manufactures, stocks and ships a complete range of expanded metal mesh, gratings and accessories made of aluminum, carbon steel and stainless steel. The division manufactures other products in bronze, plastic, brass, copper, nickel alloys, titanium and nearly any ductile material.
