Network Solutions Provider Widens Site Search
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Network Solutions Provider, which late last year reportedly was finalizing details on a lease for space downtown (READ STORY), has since broadened its search for a Mahoning Valley location.
Approved in December for a state tax credit worth $947,000 over six years, the Los Angeles-based information technology firm is considering locations in Mahoning and Trumbull counties to establish an office, said Sarah Boyarko, vice president, economic development, business retention and expansion, for the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber.
Network Solutions Provider provides technical support for cloud and business mobility, and for business-to-business technical engineering support. The company, which describes itself as one of the fastest-growing technology integrators in the country, has been eyeing the Mahoning Valley for potential investment for years and had identified a property in downtown Youngstown, according to development officials.
The proposed project would create 300 jobs and result in an investment of $6.8 million and annual payroll of about $12 million, documents state.
After the tax credit was awarded, company officials decided to “broaden the search a little bit,” Boyarko reported.
“They are considering multiple options. No decision has been made,” she said. “We’re just working with them to identify the ideal property for their business decision.”
To her knowledge, Boyarko stipulated, the company is not looking beyond the Mahoning Valley for potential sites.
Team Northeast Ohio, a Cleveland-based economic development agency that operates in 18 northeastern Ohio counties, included NSP among 16 companies that its newly released annual report said invested in the region in 2013.
“To the best of our knowledge, NSP is committed to a location in northeast Ohio,” said Nina Holliday, senior director, marketing and communications, for Team NEO. She referred questions regarding further specifics on where the company is looking to NSP, which did not respond to a request for comment.
The chamber is not including NSP among its completed projects for 2013, Boyarko stressed.
“It is not a done deal,” she remarked.
NSP is ranked No. 31 on Deloitte’s 2013 Technology Fast 500 ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America.
