NADA Touts Benefits of Franchised Auto Dealers
McLEAN, Va. -- The National Automobile Dealers Association has rolled out a "Get The Facts" initiative, the intent of which is to inform the media, opinion leaders and consumers about the numerous benefits of America's franchised new-car dealer network through a website and variety of multimedia resources.
Today, NADA releases a new report by auto industry analyst Maryann Keller on the consumer benefits of the dealer franchise system.
The centerpiece of the project is a 2½-minute animated video detailing the benefits of the franchised dealer system. Other resources are a 30-second video, a fact sheet on the consumer benefits of dealers, a longer informative FAQ, a document that lists reasons for state franchise laws and an infographic.
"Franchised new-car dealers provide the best, most efficient and most cost-effective way to sell and distribute new cars in America, and we're proud of our businesses and business model," said Peter Welch, NADA president, in a prepared statement. "NADA's efforts will set the record straight about the benefits of the dealer franchise network for consumers, manufacturers and local communities everywhere. New-car dealers provide the best and most efficient way to buy and sell cars for both consumers and manufacturers,” despite what NADA deems misinformation and misconceptions that have arisen over the last year.
NADA has presented its materials to state and metro dealer associations and individual dealers across the country. It is encouraging dealers to co-brand the materials and present them on their websites.
NADA’s "Get The Facts" initiative highlights four benefits it says franchised auto dealers provide. Among them: price competition, consumer safety, economic benefits to the communities they serve and “added value.”
The last is defined as dealers “simplifying an otherwise complex car-buying experience.”
