Mahoning Valley Pizza Huts Partner with United Way
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – This summer, area Pizza Hut restaurants will donate 10% of net sales of personal pan pizzas to the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley. All 12 Pizza Hut locations in Mahoning and Trumbull counties are participating in the promotion, which begins this month and continues through August.
“We are very appreciative of Pizza Hut’s partnership with our United Way and their alignment with supporting youth and education initiatives,” said Bob Hannon, President, United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley. “The proceeds from this promotion will benefit Success by 6, our pre-kindergarten readiness summer program. Last year, nearly 600 children in 18 local school districts benefited from this program better preparing them to start kindergarten in the fall.”
Carol Feret Magazzeni, director of marketing and public relations for Hallrich Inc., which opened its first Pizza Hut restaurant in Austintown in 1968 and now operates 84 locations in 19 Ohio counties, described the Success by 6 program as “a natural fit” for the company. “Most people recognize, and many have enjoyed the benefits of, our Book It reading program so the Success By 6 program works hand in hand with an important goal of ours -- to help children and families embrace the lifelong joy and benefits of reading,” she said. “It is our pleasure to work with Bob and his staff on this important initiative.”
