Mahoning Valley BBB Reports Record Year in 2013
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- 2013 was a year the Better Business Bureau of the Mahoning Valley broke records, its executive director, Carol Potter, announced this week. More consumers than ever looked to the BBB for trustworthy businesses and consumers took advantage of BBB Business Reviews and Request a Quote before they made a purchase, she notes.
A total of 190,309 BBB business reviews were given to consumers last year, Potter says, and the website, Youngstown.BBB.org, received 199,148 visitors. The industries most inquired about were roofing contractors, construction and remodeling, and used cars, while the most complained-about industries were new cars, windows and garbage removal.
Accredited businesses that lack a website are invited to add photos, videos and/or descriptions of their products or services to their BBB Business Review.
The BBB has 1,250 accredited business members, including Modern Office Products, Boardman, which recently partnered with the BBB to bring savings on office supplies and more. Incentives include receiving a credit for 3% of purchases made the previous quarter, 50% off all furniture delivery charges and periodic promotions and free gifts exclusive to accredited businesses.
