Hollywood Gaming Seeks to Fill Racetrack Positions
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course is still hiring for racetrack positions as it prepares to begin thoroughbred racing Nov. 24.
The racino, which opened its video lottery terminal operation Sept. 17, is looking to fill 20 to 24 open positions on the starting gate crew, track maintenance (including tractor and vehicle drivers), skilled trade positions (mechanics, plumbers and carpenters) jockey valets and general laborers.
“We are quickly gearing up for our first thoroughbred race meet, and there are still plenty of opportunities for employment available,” said Mark Loewe, vice president of racing operations for Penn National Gaming Inc., which operates the racino. “Penn National is the leading operator of racetracks in North America, and this is a great way for individuals to become part of our racing team.”
Prior racing experience is preferred, but not required, for the positions. Anyone interested in these positions can find additional information and apply online.
Other racino positions remain available, primarily in food and beverage as well as in facilties, maintenance and housekeeping, said Penn National spokesman Bob Tenenbaum. Individuals can also apply for those positions online.
