Hollywood Gaming Posts Final Group of Job Openings
AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- More than 100 additional job openings were posted Thursday by Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course as it ramps up recruiting and hiring ahead of its opening this fall. When it opens, the racino is expected to employ approximately 400, with 90% of the positions being filled by residents of the Mahoning Valley.
Positions in food and beverage (bartenders, barbacks, beverage servers, cooks, food and beverage attendants, sous chefs, and stewards); facilities and environmental service workers; database marketing; video lottery terminal attendants and technicians; security and the count room are included in what will be the last large group of positions that need to be filled prior to the gaming and racing facility’s opening
Two job fairs were held in June to hire for most of the positions needed to be filled at the racino. Officials with Hollywood Gaming this week led local officials and media members on a hard-hat tour of the complex (READ STORY). During the tour, Hollywood Gaming representatives were noncommittal about an opening date for the racino but offered assurances it would be ready for a fall opening.
Construction began in late May 2013 on the $125 million racino on Canfield-Niles Road just south of Interstate 80 here. The fully-integrated gaming and racing facility will open with 850 video lottery terminals and multiple dining and entertainment options, including a sports bar, entertainment lounge and food court. Depending on demand, company officials say the number of VLTs could be expanded to 1,500.
The one-mile racetrack, with an enclosed grandstand seating more than 1,000, will host live thoroughbred racing beginning Nov. 24, as well as simulcast wagering on horse races from throughout North America 365 days a year.
Applications for these and other positions posted previously are available here. All candidates must apply online to be considered.
