Goldsteins Opens Its First 'Your Home' Store
BOARDMAN, Ohio – Goldsteins Furniture and Bedding today cut the ribbon for its fifth location, 340 Boardman-Poland Road, the company's first to be branded Your Home by Goldsteins.
The idea behind Your Home, Goldsteins President and CEO Steve Goldstone says, is to give customers complete control over what their furniture looks like.
After a soft opening in late August, the store is attracting customers from outside the markets it serves. Goldstein’s operates stores in Boardman – adjacent to its Your Home store -- Niles and Hermitage, Pa., as well as an outlet store in Boardman.
Products available at Your Home are more ritzy than what's found at the other four Goldsteins stores.
“We decided to create a more upscale product and feature more contemporary and transitional products,” Goldstone explains. “We don't have anything in this store that we have at an existing Goldsteins store. Everything in here is unique compared to our other locations.”
Adds Mark Cummings, store manager, “We've got a multitude of vendors who are providing us the ability to custom order fabrics and finishes of products. Everything you'd want to make it fit your home, you'll find.”
The response from customers, Cummings continues, has been “overwhelming” in the short time the store has been open. With faux bedrooms and living rooms filling more than 43,000 square-feet, what customers are looking for has varied wildly, he says.
“It's been fantastic. Everyone likes to make something a little bit their own, whether it's a simple twist of changing a pillow fabric or they really want to change the entire fabric of what they're looking at,” Cummings says. “It's been great.”
Putting together the demonstration rooms, designed to give customers an idea of what can be done in their own homes, was accomplished by a dedicated staff, he notes.
“Employees spent hours with vendors to look at color samples, fabric swatches, etc., to put this store together. It's been months of work.”
