LORDSTOWN, Ohio -- Robert Parcell, plant manager of the General Motors Co. Lordstown Complex, is promoted to the position of manufacturing manager, GM International Operations Manufacturing, the automaker announced this afternoon. His successor as Lordstown plant manager will be named later.
Parcell, who has been at Lordstown since August 2010, replaces Phill Disch, whose June 1 retirement was announced previously. In his new position, which is effective Sept., he will oversee the Singapore-based operations of 13 manufacturing plants and more than13,000 total employees.

Roosevelt award for outstanding community service.

He progressed through multiple assignments of increasing responsibility in maintenance, engineering, program management and manufacturing operations. In addition to his assignments at Flint and Grand Rapids, Bob has worked at Mansfield and in die engineering. Additionally, he has led operations as plant manager at Parma; Wentzville, Mo.; Canadian Automotive Manufacturing Inc.; Bowling Green, Ky; and at his current assignment at Lordstown.
